The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), is part of the Evanston Emergency Management Agency, and was established to assist the City of Evanston 1st Responder Departments and Agencies in times of extreme emergency and or catastrophe. C.E.R.T’s primary objective is to provide support for city departments by incorporating trained civilian volunteers in order to allow public safety professionals and other city employees to serve where they are needed most. Generally, members will be used for large scale disasters, emergencies and or other events.

Your completion of this application does not automatically enroll you in the CERT. By signing this form and submitting it to the Evanston Emergency Management Agency, you will be subject to a background check and other screening measures deemed appropriate by the City of Evanston EMA. Appointments to the CERT will be made following successful completion of mandatory C.E.R.T. training.


*Completion of CPA or CFA classes is not required but preference will be given to CPA/CFA graduates.
